Beth Slocum is an illustrator, graphic designer and artist living within the salty air of the New Jersey Shore. She’s addicted to old things as well as bold graphic elements mixed with organic textures - and anything that fills her heart with nostalgia. Beth’s work reflects her deep love of bold colors, contrasting tones, line-worked details, organic elements, world travels, and the love [and loss] of those around her.
After more than a decade of “sneaking in” illustrative elements into her client work, Beth is finding her roots and re-igniting her hand-drawn craft that was put on the shelf. Now applying her industry skills with her long-time illustrative instincts, she’s creating artwork and pattern collections for application within the surface design industry.
Beth’s successes in the design industry began at the Rhode Island School of Design, with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2006. After graduating she went to work for Martha Stewart, Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works, and other small design firms in NYC and NJ.
In 2009, she launched Woodhaus Studio a full service graphic design firm, maintaining and reinventing brands in a variety of industries all over the world. She’s helped both large and small companies grow to [and beyond] their potential through branding, web, social media, print, environmental and publishing design.
Beth lives in a lovingly restored victorian with her husband Brian, cocker spaniel Charlie and tabby cat, Kitty.
She encourages commissions, freelance and licensing collaborations. If you are interested in her work, or starting a new project, please drop her a line!
